The Architects Of Our Republic project is a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr's 'I Have a Dream' speech and will premiere new work by spoken word artists, filmmakers, musicians, young writers, elders and refugees, bringing together a multitude of voices to challenge, debate, tell personal and political stories and explore the power of speech to create social change.
City Eye's Antony Batchelor (Batch) has been working on a film called 'The Trouble with Dreams' in collaboration with Brighton based poet Rik Sykes. This is one of five films made around the country to celebrate this momentous speech. Batch's film is shot on Super 8, mixed together with family archive and held together with Rik's wonderful poem. The film will be screened on 28 August in the Royal Festival Hall and we hope as part of the live stream that evening between 7pm and 9pm via YouTube. >> Click here to visit the South Bank Centre YouTube channel Architects Of Our Republic is produced by Apples and Snakes Come and visit us at City Eye!
