Education Project Work

Education Projects
City Eye has many years of experience working in schools and colleges in the Hampshire region. Over that  time City Eye has produced many different kinds of films and devised and delivered a varied selection of film related projects covering a wide choice of subjects.

Our work has been used to enhance the curriculum in both primary and secondary schools, to support non curriculum projects like after-school clubs, and to deliver inset training and CPD for teachers.

The information on this page provides an opportunity for teachers and leaders of youth organisations to understand a little about what we do and to see examples of our work.
It is divided into two main categories defined by our work with young people and by our work as adult trainers - scroll down to read more.

If you would like to find out more or talk to a member of staff about an education project, please get in touch.

Student projects

City Eye has a long history of working with schools and colleges and delivers engaging projects that help to establish filmmaking as an accessible skill in the school.  Our work is always varied and stimulating and offers a wealth of skills to the young people involved.

Filmmaking is a discipline which gives students excellent opportunities to express themselves creatively as well as encouraging thoughtful group work. The structure of filmmaking - from the original creative idea through to the planning and onto the shooting and editing - showcases a wide range of learning that appeals to all learning styles.

With projects that cover all the main disciplines from digital filmmaking, animation and documentary filmmaking, there is always something for everyone.

Inset and training projects

City Eye offers a range of workshops and training opportunities for teachers and trainers. Our support can be delivered on a one-to-one basis, in small groups or with large classes. We also prepare projects to suit the needs and time constraints of youth lead organisations and educational establishments.

Training can be in general  filmmaking skills or can be broken down into separate components like camera techniques or editing skills. City Eye also delivers workshops and inset training on specific filmmaking projects and helps teachers with the training needed to deliver these lessons in their classrooms.
