Open Lens Award
Although we continue to offer support and guidance to those wishing to develop projects or careers in film, we regret that at the current time we are not able to offer Open Lens Awards. We hope that in the not-too-distant future the scheme will be reopened.

What is the Open Lens Award? The Open Lens Award is a scheme run by City Eye in support of emerging filmmaking talent. The award is equipment and resource based, and might provide advice, guidance, access to equipment or post-production facilities.
We do not award money, nor do we support projects run purely for profit. We would ask you to demonstrate a basic understanding of film production or agree to undertake training prior to being considered for an award. Well, I couldn't have made this film without you. It's that simple. I had creative ambitions but no idea how to find other creative people who might share those ambitions. I also had no money to fund those ambitions. City Eye enabled me to find like-minded people and provided me with the equipment and assistance I needed to turn my script into a proper finished film. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending City Eye to anyone who'd listen and I'd like to thank you for reigniting the filmmaking spark I thought had died long ago. Making this film has been one of the most fulfilling creative experiences of my life and, I hope, is merely the beginning of better things to come for me. - Jim Glaister |
