Project Testimonials
"Working alongside City Eye was a good experience, there are very little creative organisations in Southampton and a lot of young people are really engaged by this particular sector so it’s great to have an organisation like City Eye to run these types of courses. At the Princes Trust we want our courses to improve young people personal and social skills and the way city eye structured the film course definitely did this. There was plenty of teamwork, communication and confidence building throughout. The young people on the course were all NEET and this course gave them the opportunity to engage with a support network that will look to move them into a positive outcome."
Ryan Hayter Programme Executive, Get Started, The Prince's Trust Young People's comments “I enjoyed collaborating as part of a team to bring our ideas together” “The pre-production of the film was great and was a real team effort” “I enjoyed the whole course but most of all the acting as I got to feel comfortable around everyone and have fun” “ I enjoyed meeting new people and getting off the Isle of Wight” |
"It has been a pleasure working with City Eye over the past year on our Summer Youth Media Project. Our Summer Youth Project is our flag ship project each year involving a very large cast of young people in creating theatre for our stage. Being able to work with a trusted partner organisation on developing the new media element has been extremely successful. 13 young people were able to take part and develop their knowledge and skills in photography, film and social media. They not only learnt a great deal, gained confidence and made new friends but also created an excellent social media campaign, film of the performance and documentary about the project. We are now looking to make this a regular feature of our summer youth work. Our ethos of commitment to excellence in the arts and opportunities for young people to participate, enjoy and achieve align very well to the approach taken by City Eye. The young people involved in the project have all completed a Bronze Arts Award and are now seeking the next opportunities for taking part in media work. City Eye have a clear understanding of partnership and communicate honestly and openly working well to deadlines and bringing great expertise in their area."
Sara Scott Former Community and Education Manager, Mayflower Theatre now Executive Director MAST Mayflower Studios Young Person: “It was fantastic, I didn’t know how much there was to learn and I can’t wait for next year, thankyou” Parent: “My son has gained so much from this project. It has really made him consider this field as a career as well as a hobby. He is very proud of the work he has achieved” |
"Hampshire Constabulary have worked to great effect with City Eye on the Safer Student DVD. City Eye stood out from the other organisations approached not only as the most competitive and professional but also their ethos at providing an educational service to the community. Upon hearing about the work of City Eye we felt this service created a unique opportunity for local residents to engage in the film making process and thus provide a popular diversionary activity. City Eye went on to produce an excellent product which has been recognised by ACPO (Association of Chief Police Officers) and also well received by the majority of the Universities and Colleges nationally. Without the work of City Eye I am not sure that the Safer Student DVD would have been possible and prove as popular. The DVD is an important crime prevention tool which has helped promote safety message to countless numbers of students countrywide. Without the support and help of City Eye, I do not feel the end product would have been so successful."

"We have worked with City Eye on several projects over the past 12 months and all of them have been very successful. City Eye have an excellent approach to working with the young people, most of whom are challenging and "hard-to-reach". City Eye delivered one week of the Summer Arts College programme which we run every year. This project is a national programme which aims to embed both literacy and numeracy into arts activities and to help young people achieve the Arts Award. City Eye delivered an engaging and fun week for everyone involved and the high quality end product was something the young people could really be proud of. We are delighted that City Eye will be working with us again on the Summer College programme this year. It is difficult to find practitioners who are truly experienced and able to work with our client group and therefore having a positive relationship with City Eye is of huge value to us."

"Working with City Eye has been remarkable in so many ways. The strong points for us, as we work for a Mental Health Trust, that they understand the needs of the organisation but also really listened and validated the views of the service users which meant real partnership working, I felt they were committed to the voices of those who mattered in this project, and that was the service users. There is totally inclusion with City Eye.
The service users involved had a fantastic learning experience; they got to try out film production, on all levels, and we got so much more than a good finished product. This is being used to great success in our organisation. We went on a journey, in an environment of creative learning. We certainly felt our ideas were listened too, with the added advantage of someone with the experience to let you know honestly what will and won’t work."
