Southampton has a vibrant community of filmmakers and film goers with a wide range of activities, pop-up screenings, network groups, several cinema's and an independent film society as well as being home to two Universities and a number of FE colleges offering  courses in film-related subjects. It's a great city to be Filmy!

Film related events take place spontaneously throughout the year and across the City but there are also different groups meeting regularly where you can find local minded film souls.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions clubs and meet-ups may be suspended but if you would like to find out more about opportunities in the city please drop us a line.  As City Eye moves closer to launching its own full programme in its new building at Studio 144, we look forward to establishing our own regular meet-up for anyone interested or engaged in film.

Shooters in the Pub
First Monday of every month at Harbour Lights, Picturehouse from 6.30pm.  A chance to meet-up with filmmakers from Southampton and across the region to network, discuss projects and films in the cinema's bar area. Shooters in the Pub is a nationwide free event organised by ShootingPeople.org

"The local Southampton meeting takes place each first Monday of the month from 6.30 - 9.30 at Harbour Lights, Ocean Village, Southampton but just turn up when you can as very informal. You do not need to be a member of Shooting People to come along - no need to book - just turn up.  Any one with an interest in making films is welcome.  We are a mixed bunch of people  from seasoned professionals to students and everyone in between - in fact anyone wanting to be involved in making films.  We are a friendly bunch and entrance is free - just buy a coffee or drink at the bar."

Exposure Filmmakers
Previously last Wednesday of every month at The Art House Cafe in Southampton at 8pm. An evening of friendly discussion, idea-sharing, and informal networking as well as regular screenings of members films and 'shoot a film on the night' sessions.
