Film School - Level 2

Each school holiday you can come and work with City Eye's professional filmmakers and try your hand at exciting disciplines - such as drama, documentary and green screen - while working on themed films. Learn from experts using professional filmmaking equipment whilst having a great time on these rewarding and informative workshops.

Film School is ideal for those new to film or those who have attended Film School before and want to develop their ideas and skills further.

Level 2 Film School is generally for older children and young people. However, we are happy to discuss any young person's needs and abilities to ensure that, regardless of age, they end up in the best group for them.

All films made at Film School will be posted onto the Film School Films page on the City Eye website or on the City Eye YouTube channel where you can share them with friends and family.

30 & 31 October 2013
Theme: 'Round My Corner'
Age: 11-15

If you are aged between 11 and 15 the National Youth Film Festival and Southampton Film Week would like to invite you to a fantastic 2 day workshop during which you will make a short film.

You will work with talented and supportive professional filmmakers who will help you to make a film, taking it from script to screen, and using 'Round My Corner' as your inspiration!  Your finished film will be uploaded to the National Youth Film Festival website and might be entered into the Festival next year! Before you come to the workshop you might like to think about what springs to mind by 'Round my Corner'.

You could think about:
  • what makes our area special - is it the people or a local landmark?
  • do we have important buildings?
  • did something significant or of historical importance take place here?
  • what do you love about living here?
  • do we have any local myths or legends?
  • what has happened here that you want the world to know about?
  • what would put this area on the map?

Venue: Tower House

One day – 24th August 2012 (10am -4pm)!
One Script – The Sea Movie theme!
One film - Make your mark!

The 'Shoot-out' format is always good fun, fast paced and a little bit crazy - are you ready for it?

If you require any more information regarding these workshops then please don't hesitate to contact a member of City Eye's staff who will be happy to answer any of your questions.
