Windrush 2019
City Eye was delighted, to work with SoCo Music Project and Black Heritage to celebrate and commemorate the incredible impact of the Windrush generation on Southampton’s culture. The project was delivered in partnership with Unity 101 and ArtfulScribe. |
Artswork - Mobile Phone Filmmaking
In September 2018, a group of young adults took part in a workshop teaching filmmaking on mobile phones. As a part of the project, they all conceived, shot and edited films using only mobile phones. |
Seaside in the Square - Outdoor Cinema
As part of Seaside in the Square which took place in Guildhall Square between 20 July – 22 August 2018, City Eye and GO! Southampton offered a programme of free outdoor screenings for all the family. |
Barton Primary School - Archive Film
Filmmaking project delivered by City Eye and Into Film working with students from this Isle of Wight school exploring the BFI Britain on Film archive and documenting life in 2018. |
Get Started in Film - The Prince's Trust
This programme is a 5 day filmmaking course for NEET (not in employment, education or training) young people aged between 16-25. During the course the young people work as a team to create their own short film exploring all stages of film production. Projects delivered in 2015, 2016 and 2018. |
Film & Media Crew - Mayflower Summer Youth Project
In 2015, 2016 and 2017 City Eye worked with a group of young people to provide Film and Media coverage throughout Mayflower's Summer Youth Project. The Film & Media team work includes filming, photography and creating content for social media. |
Tim's Mixed-Up Zoo
Former City Eye Education Programme Coordinator, Antony Batchelor, worked with Tim on a weekly basis to produce fantastic films, allowing Tim to make his own stories of 'mixed-up' animals to be told. Tim attended the Bridge College which provided education for young people with autism. |

The Britten Stream
On Friday 22 November at 1400 GMT, Turner Sims hosted The Britten Stream live webcast as part of the international celebrations to mark the 100th birthday of composer Benjamin Britten. The event included the premiere of three new short films made by City Eye with Turner Sims, reflecting the local associations with Britten and his music. |
The Sound of Silents
City Eye and Turner Sims - as part of Art at the Heart - presented a series of events and activities that celebrated the wonderful marriage of film and music. With archive treasures, artists films, animations, archive and contemporary dramas - all complemented by new music from composers, bands, choirs and even an iPad Orchestra. |
Zombie Resurrection
During August 2011, City Eye assisted Charmed Apocalypse Pictures (Andy Phelps and Jake Hawkins) with the making of their début feature film Zombie Resurrection. |
Choices
Choices is a thirty minute drama about knife crime. The film was made in and around the estates in Southampton and was supported by City Eye and Southampton City Council Youth Service Central Outreach Team. |
