Get Networked: Film Industry Networking for South Coast Filmmakers

As one of a series of events led by Making Waves Film Festival, on Tuesday 3 May City Eye will be hosting a filmmakers networking event focused around the film industry in the region.

Today the Solent Region sits at a crossroads. The sheer intensity of the creative industries in the area is already driving the growth of jobs and graduate opportunities. Meanwhile, the scale of investment in film and high budget television production around the west of London, an area geographically adjacent to Solent, will soon result in the development of the largest production base in Europe.

We really do have an opportunity here, so come down and make your voice heard!

We will be joined by guest speaker Dominique Unsworth MBE, from Resource Productions in Slough. Dominique will challenge us to consider how we take hold of the opportunities around the development of the emerging West London HETV production base, while continuing to diversify the labour pool and ensure that the production sector celebrates diversity and inclusivity.

Get Networked will run from 6pm – 8pm, Tuesday 3 May at City Eye. This event is free to attend, but booking is essential to ensure we have enough pizza and beer!

Follow this link to reserve your place, and keep an eye on the City Eye website for announcements of more Networking events to come!

Dominique set up Resource Productions as a social enterprise in 1999 with a mission to affect social change through film and art, whilst diversifying the creative industries. Clients and partners include Pinewood Studios, Channel 4, BBC, Arts Council England and the BFI. She works across the sector with community groups, cultural organisations, diverse artists & filmmakers and young people to produce films and deliver creative training.
