We are delighted to share that we have been working with Opera UpClose
to create filmed visuals to form part of their new production. Vaughan Williams’ and John Synge’s sung play Riders to the Sea tells the story of a family, Maurya, Bartley, Kathleen and Nora and a seemingly inevitable chain of events. Partnered with a new dramatic prologue, The Last Bit of the Moon, composed by Michael Betteridge and written by ArtfulScribe's Community Sirens Collective led by Antosh Wojcik, this masterful miniature expands into an exploration of the core collective experiences of humankind – grief and love. In a production combining projection, recorded sound and live performance, and with a new chamber orchestration for oboe, clarinet and accordion, this is powerfully direct musical storytelling at its most visceral. Touring until 3rd March. |
The material filmed for this production gave our work experience student, Laurence Whitelegg, the opportunity to expand his skills and work on a live project. Filming took place at City Eye as well as Calshot Beach.
